Steven W. Marcus

Steven W. Marcus , a partner in the firm, practices in the area of commercial litigation, representing clients involved in multiple areas of business, including large and small companies in various industries including airlines, hospitality, financial institutions, and property owners. He has litigated extensively in both State and Federal courts in matters involving complex commercial issues, including contract disputes, banking, finance, intellectual property, real estate, landlord-tenant, employment, probate, and construction. Mr. Marcus has also defended financial institutions in matters involving the Federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) and Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA). His intellectual property work has included representation of a major brewing company in copyright and trademark litigation, as well as commercial exploitation litigation. His experience also includes successful representation of an international manufacturing company involved in a federal dispute addressing breach of a significant supply contract. Mr. Marcus has also defended companies involved in trade secret and non-compete lawsuits.

Mr. Marcus earned degrees in Criminology (B.A., 1990 and M.A., 1995) from the University of South Florida. In 1999, he earned a Juris Doctor degree, with honors, from Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad Law Center. He is rated AV Preeminent by Martindale-Hubbell. In 2013, based on his work with Holocaust survivors by helping them obtain ghetto-based reparations/pension payments from the German government, Mr. Marcus won The Florida Bar President’s Pro Bono Service Award for the Seventeenth Judicial Circuit.
